With very special guests MONDO ROCK, KATE CEBERANO and more

a day on the green is excited to announce that the legendary JOHN FARNHAM will return to the popular winery event for two big shows in South Australia and Western Australia later this year.

He will play at Peter Lehmann Wines, Barossa Valley SA on Saturday November 25 and at Kings Park & Botanic Garden, Perth WA on Sunday December 17.

John will be special guests the mighty MONDO ROCK, the fabulous KATE CEBERANO and soulful rockers THE BADLOVES. In South Australia, the legendary RUSSELL MORRIS also joins the bill.

“I’ve always had a fantastic time playing at a day on the green,” John said. “The locations are such beautiful venues to perform at and the crowds are always wonderful. I’m really looking forward to the shows.”

a day on the green celebrated its milestone 400th event last year and is looking forward to another bumper season with fabulous concerts planned. These two events headlined by the Aussie music icon are a fine way to kick off the coming season.

Drawing on the phenomenal songbook from his stellar four decade-long career, the 19-time ARIA Award winner and all-round top bloke JOHN FARNHAM continues to be “The Voice” of Australian music, thrilling audiences with his onstage charisma and those incredible vocals.

Whether it’s hits from his landmark ’80s albums Whispering Jack and Age Of Reason, like You’re The Voice, Pressure Down, A Touch Of Paradise, Age Of Reason and Two Strong Hearts, or his earlier material such as Sadie The Cleaning Lady, One and Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head, there are few Australian performers as beloved as ‘Farnsy’.

Last year marked the 30th anniversary of the 24-platinum selling Whispering Jack, which holds iconic status in Australian music history being the first local album to sell more than one million copies in Australia. But John has never been one to rest on his laurels. He’s had an incredible nine number one albums since Whispering Jack, including last year’s chart-topping duets album with Olivia Newton-John, Friends For Christmas.

The chemistry will be right when MONDO ROCK take to the a day on the green stage. Fronted by the great Ross Wilson and fuelled by the song-writing genius of Wilson and Eric McCusker, their songs have provided the soundtrack to our lives for the past four decades. Always stylish and sophisticated, theirs was a cool world indeed. If you need any proof of their master pop craftsmanship, just press play on State of the Heart, Chemistry, Summer of ’81, Primitive Love Rites, Baby Wants to Rock, No Time and Come Said the Boy. Earlier this year saw the release of Mondo Rock: The Greatest Hits, featuring their original version of A Touch of Paradise, which John Farnham recorded four years later.

KATE CEBERANO also holds a special place in the hearts of Australian audiences. Her achievements include five Platinum albums, five Gold albums and more than two million albums sold. Twenty-four albums over 30 years makes her Australia’s most prolific female recording artist of this era. With her soulful voice and enchanting onstage presence, Kate has had a wildly successful and diverse career. She has sung for Prince Charles, won Best Female Vocalist at the Countdown Awards, starred in Jesus Christ Superstar, won Dancing With The Stars, been Queen of Moomba, appeared in the movies Dust Off The Wings and Molokai, and had her own TV show, Kate Ceberano and Friends. And, of course, Kate has made chart-topping pop, jazz and blues albums and last year released The Kate Ceberano Anthology, a three-disc, 53-song celebration of her music to date.

ARIA Hall of Fame inductee, #1 selling Platinum artist, King of Pop, Australian Icon … these are a few phrases commonly used when describing Aussie legend RUSSELL MORRIS. From his early pop hits The Real Thing, The Girl That I Love, Sweet Sweet Love and Wings of an Eagle, Russell was reborn in 2012 when he captured the imagination of Australians with the blues/rock album Sharkmouth, the first of a trilogy re-telling amazing historical stories of Australian characters, events and places. In one of the most remarkable stories in Australian music, Russell scored his first Top 10 album at the age of 64 – 46 years after his first release! Sharkmouth went platinum, and won an ARIA for Best Blues and Roots Album. The follow-ups, 2014’s Van Diemen's Land and 2015’s Red Dirt – Red Heart, also topped the ARIA charts. As one of Australia’s finest singer-songwriters, Russell is indeed The Real Thing! (** Russell plays in SA only)

Fronted by singer Michael Spiby, THE BADLOVES have released six albums, won three ARIA Awards and produced classic singles like Lost, Green Limousine, I Remember and Caroline, as well as a cover of The Weight with Jimmy Barnes. The band are back together touring and last year released a live album, Raw Honey.
